SISCOG is proud to sponsor the EURO Practitioners’ Forum 5th Annual Conference, taking place from 14 to 15 October 2024 at the University of Coimbra.
This year’s theme, “Collaboration of Operational Research (OR) practitioners with other disciplines” will explore the growing impact of interdisciplinary work in fields such as business, society, and economics.
The conference will bring together professionals from disciplines such as Machine Learning, Econometrics, and Simulation, highlighting how collaboration across these fields can improve decision-making, system design, and problem-solving. The event will feature real-world examples of successful partnerships, as well as discussions on the challenges that arise when experts from different fields collaborate.
Ricardo Saldanha, SISCOG’s Head of Innovation, is a member of the organising committee and will co-moderate the session titled “OR in Collaboration”. This session will focus on the benefits and challenges of working across disciplines, offering participants a chance to share their experiences and discuss practical strategies for managing multi-disciplinary collaboration effectively.
